Water Response Team

The Pickens County Water Response Team is a multi-agency team (Police, Sheriff, Fire, EMS, and Rescue) under the Office of Emergency Management. Members volunteer their time, and are responsible for search, rescue, and recovery of victim’s and evidence that are in any type of water.
Examples of missions the Water Response Team responds to are: 1) drowning’s, and boat collisions in lakes, ponds, rivers, and pools. 2) Swift Water emergencies from flooded roads, homes, and rivers. 3) Search for evidence from crimes that may have been placed in water. 4) Assist EMS by providing boats to help get boaters who suffer medical emergencies. 5) Provide Public Safety Divers and medical first responders for Triathlons, NCAA Rowing Events, and other stand-by requests. 6) Provide first responders on boats during Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day holidays.
